Sailor Jenny 2008 | Website Design by Simple Dimple Designs
I was born a Jennifer in a smallish town in Southeastern Massachusetts and had an idyllic childhood. We
spent summers on the Cape (Cod) at our little clapboard house in Dennis, school days at Saint Michael's
in really small classes. Dad got promoted, we moved up to a cute little Colonial in a pretty neighborhood
with lots of kids and green lawns as far as the eye could see.

Problem is, I'm a dreamer. I didn't want to be 'stuck' in my little town in MA, so I enlisted as soon as I
could (I had to do a semester at Rhode Island College first.) No, the folks didn't love the idea of my
enlistment. I don't know that there are a whole lot of folks in SE Massachusetts who want to put a face on
war. But here I am!

I went to a great school in San Diego, learned a great deal about some really cool stuff (Oceanography,
leadership skills, how to use Tabasco Sauce to polish brass . . .) Met my wonderful hubby (El Jefe) and
along the way we've made a great life for ourselves and had a couple of little doppelgangers. (His and
Hers.) It's a charmed life, really. I love what I do. The public sees a very skewed version of the things the
military does, and that's the part of my job I love the most.
I get to see wonderful places and amazing
people and learn so much about how similar we all are - all while earning a paycheck.
I love the
folks I come home to. My husband supports me, and my children inspire me to fix what's broken so that
they can live as well as I did when I was a child.

I've seen a lot of crazy stuff in the twelve years I've been in the service. Some good, some bad, but all
made an impression. So I make jewelry and other wearable treasures. Some to remind me, some to rid me
of demons; most as my version of my own unique social commentary. Welcome to my world.

What's this page for anyway? Why am I here? Where am I going?
- When I buy handmade items, I like to know the story of the piece, and the person who made it. Here's
mine!
- I have a lot to say some days, but don't always make sense. The internet is a great place for that! Check
out my contact page to email me or click on the blog link to see what I'm up to.
- Check my announcements page for item stocking in my shop, upcoming events, and special discounts!
- Sailor Jenny is a Socially Conscious business. Besides just recycling/upcycling/reworking jewelry, I ship
in recycled (recycleable!) packaging. In addition to reducing my footprint, I make a conscious effort to
help others along. Please check my Links page to see what organizations I actively support. Thank you for
your help, I couldn't support others without you!!
